The costume we inherited is no longer available but a great one from Celebration Express is the Stinger Bee infant and toddler costume. The yellow iridescent wings are also attached to the back, and the whole costume is made of polyester. It is available for babies ages 3 to 12 months as well as for toddlers 12 to 18 months.
We did receive it in November and our baby girl will outgrow it by the time Halloween comes around next year. And even so, my wife will probably pursue her own source of inspiration and come up with something new.
This bumblebee costume serves another purpose in our home, dress-up time! Every once in a while we’ll gather all our Halloween costumes and play dress-up just for fun. We’ll spend an entire afternoon having a kiddie food and costume party, taking pictures and dancing around to silly music. That’s what’s great about the late Autumn months, we get to save this activity for when it’s just too cold outside to play.
With so many bumble bee costumes available, I can see how it could be difficult to choose one. This one is cute and well priced, but there are others for tiny babies that have no legs, and up to toddlers weighing 28 pounds. There are even bumble bee costumes for dogs!! Then there’s the Transformers bumblebee, which is a completely different suit for boys. Since our son isn't old enough yet to appreciate him, I’ll have to wait until he’s a little older to see if it will hold his interest.
