This Peacock Costume was our daughter’s third costume for Halloween when she
was two and a half years old last year. As my wife and I tried to plan
what she could wear for this year’s upcoming holiday, I went back in
time and pulled out some of the photos from last year and almost
completely forgot about it.
But
when I saw the photographs of her peacock costume, the memory rushed
back with fulfilling excitement. It was at a time where she was more
actively involved in her surroundings and participated more openly with
the world.
The
idea for the peacock costume wasn’t mine of course, Mom is always
coming up with great costume ideas for the kids, and last year she was
looking for something unique and unusual for our little daughter. After
doing her usual research, she decided on the peacock toddler Halloween
costume from amazon.

I
tried not to look at the price, but I secretly knew what she paid for
it and slightly cringed, but when it arrived, the quality was well worth
the money. The colors were far more vibrant than the pictures showed,
and we ourselves couldn’t photographically capture the colors, which
were vivid and shimmering shades of purple and aqua with hints of gold.
The
costume was very soft and comfortable, and the size was large enough to
fit warm clothes underneath for the chilly Pennsylvania Halloween
nights. The costume itself offered a layer of warmth, and the hood fit
nicely on her little head as the head feathers dangled over her.
Purchasing
from amazon is always our preferred method; shipping was fast as usual
and we benefited from the free super saver. Sizes include six to twelve
months, twelve to eighteen months, and eighteen months to 2T. Our girl
was able to fit comfortably in the 2T, even though she was thirty one
months old, so... we got a little lucky.
That
year she was much more of a participant while trick or treating, and
thankfully didn’t cry at all our neighbors. In fact, she was repeating
with her brother and auntie loud, “Trick or Treats!” and felt much more
involved. We even decided to leave our treats at our front door for
visitors so Mom could come out with us.
I
loved looking back and reminiscing about our little girl and how cute
she was in her peacock costume. She was cute and adorable, but is now a
completely different personality. This year at at forty one months old,
she decided that she wants to be Batman. It makes a lot of sense, she
uses her old bibs as capes and claims to be a superhero saving the day,
and we support her desire to dress up as the Dark Knight. But I’m
thankful to be able to look back at the time when she was a cute and
fluffy little Peacock!
