She was right, he was both cute and menacingly scary running around the neighborhood trick or treating (mainly on my arms and some walking). Though he may not have known that the meaning of what he was wearing, he knew it inspired fun and frightening responses and fed off of the energy his frightening anonymity created.
Based on Mary Shelley’s novel <i>Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus</i> published anonymously in London in 1818 then under her name during the second edition in France, Frankenstein is the assumption given to this nameless monster created by the fictional Victor Frankenstein.
The costume is a once piece zippered back multicolor jumpsuit that’s big enough to fit several layers of insulation clothing for the cool Halloween nights.
Beyond Halloween, our boy had fun dressing up in his kids Frankenstein's costume several times after Halloween ended. He runs around the house believing he is to be feared.
Recently during dress-up, we had our little girl dress in the costume, and it was both funny and adorable. Our son almost forgot about it until he started playing with the electrodes on the neck, and she could not figure out his fascination with them as she could not see them herself.
This costume is both scary and funny at the same time. I’m glad it survived long enough for our daughter to have some fun with it herself, though this year she’s dressing up in her Ladybug Costume.
