The Chicco Talking Farm is a great bilingual toy focusing on farm animal names, numbers, music skills and memory games in both English and Spanish, aimed at one year old children.
We bought the Chicco Toys Talking Farm
for our one year old daughter for her first birthday, and immediately she loved pressing the buttons and listening to the farm animals. It would take her several more months and a combination of parental interaction, word and image cards, puzzles and various other toys in combination to get her to understand some of the more challenging concepts and games. She now enjoys it more fully at 22 months.
Our then 2.5 year old son loved it right away and jumped very quickly to the toy’s more advanced levels which are a achieved by following the oral instructions of the machine and pressing the buttons in succession of the instructions. Being that there are about 11 animals and 10 numbers, there are many combinations which need to be followed, such as pressing the blue bird, then pressing the number 6, then pressing the white lamb, then pressing the grey bunny. Within an extra month, he was also following the instructions to the fourth level in Spanish!
The Chicco talking farm speaks over 250 words and phrases in English and Spanish, teaching colors, animals, numbers and names. It comes with 4 modes of play for your growing child and has fun lights, sounds and music. Almost a year later and we haven’t yet changed the required and included 2 AA batteries.
The Chicco talking farm has won multiple awards including Best Toy of the Year from Parent’s Magazine, Toy Test Winner from the Today Show, Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center, Smart Play/Smart Toy from Dr. Toy and Honors Award from NAPPA.
Of course at almost 3, our son played with it for a couple of months, mastered all the concepts and moved on. More interesting is the interaction we have with our daughter and the Chicco bilingual talking farm. She grows well into the toy’s continuously challenging levels and since first receiving it now identifies all of the animals, including her favorites: brown dog, green butterfly and orange cat.
