The BOB stroller is one insanely awesome baby transportation machine! After purchasing and experiencing the BOB Revolution Duallie with our two little ones, it has proven to be a truly unique, fun and amazing baby and toddler stroller.
The BOB company started in San Luis Obispo, California in 1991 with a bicyclist and airline mechanic Roger Malinowski and Philip Novonty. They started making trailers for bicyclists and ultimately designed baby strollers when they started having children of their own. The BOB, an acronym of Beast of Burden during the bike trailer days, was designed to be the best looking and performing high quality jogging stroller in the world. Their first incarnation was the BOB Sport Utility Stroller followed by the two seat Duallie in 2001 and later the Ironman, specifically designed by request from the Ironman Triaholon group before finally introducing the swivel front wheel in 2005 which has become the company’s current standard for excellence.

This high level of quality and excellence, of course, comes at a fantastic price! In general, double strollers can range from $300 to over $900 depending on brand name and quality, and the BOB Revolution Duallie came in at $569.00 on Amazon.com with their free super saver shipping. Honestly, for me this was too high for any stroller and I offered resistance. But my wife claimed we needed a double stroller and claimed the project, and the cost herself. She would put money aside from her paycheck for months before saving enough to buy it. And in the meantime must have looked over, considered, reconsidered, declined, revisited and again looked over more than two dozen double strollers before finally committing, and paying for, the Mesa Orange BOB stroller Revolution Duallie.

When it came in, she felt that since she paid for it, researched it and ordered it, she was going to assemble it and try it out before anyone else. Sure enough, within a couple of hours she was ready to take the kids jogging with it.

One thing that got in her way and needed me for, however, was that the handle and frame was so wide, I had to unscrew the handle to our sliding glass doors so that the entrance would open up just a couple of inches further, allowing the wide frame through.

Since our little girl was under one year old at the time and our boy was over two but considerably bigger, the BOB stroller had the option of adjusting the seat for either bigger or smaller children on padded and comfortable seats that recline up to 70 degrees. It also has a cool plastic canopy window to see the kids while walking or jogging, and the canopy itself is rather huge with five folding points to cover the kids’ faces from sun glare. In addition, it has a large bottom storage compartment and two additional storage compartments behind each seat.
