Our girl’s 1st birthday party was approaching and my wife had already done her party decoration shopping and privately stored all the party favors at least a month before our girl’s 1st birthday. Normally a big fan of amazon, she regularly shops at birthdayexpress.com for most of our kids birthday party supplies, and for our girls first birthday party, she bought the Hugs & Stitches Girl 1st Birthday Deluxe Pack for 8.
The deluxe pack included the eight invitations, dinner plates, dessert plates, cups, forks, spoons, 2 napkins per guest, table cover, the great centerpiece, a foil balloon, 18 balloons in three colors, curling ribbons in three colors, crepe paper rolls in 3 colors, cone hats and the #1 candle as well as regular candle cakes.
In addition, she ordered a special 1st Birthday party hat along with a first birthday party bib, some blow party favors and a boyish party hat for our three year old boy. The disposable helium tank came in handy for all of the balloons and lasted for an additional two parties, so the price was worth it and our local recycling center was able to properly recycle it rather than throwing it away.
Finally, I came through with a personalized cake with a free coupon from our local supermarket along with a toy truck for the boy and some girlie toys for our 10 year old girl.
Of course all the goodies came together with my wife’s super visual display talents, hanging homemade decorations from the ceiling, putting on a color light display, wrapping all of our daughter’s gifts, and finally spending hours decorating the high chair in what would become a super extravagant 1st Birthday Party Throne!
Our daughter was taken by surprise by all the attention and decorations, and after a small meal and some milk, fell asleep on her lavish birthday throne. Our guests which included mostly family loved the display and treats and were real happy to be part of our daughter’s first birthday. Our son was surprisingly well behaved while still being a little wild, sharing some of the wildness from my mother as they blew into the loud party favors together.
Our 10 year old girl played some party favorite music from her Casio keyboard, and when our daughter woke up she continued to be amazed at all the attention being directed at her. But when the birthday cake and candles finally arrived, she was blowing into the candles and smiling as we all cheered along! It was a real precious moment in all of our lives.
